ABOUT JULIE SNOW, FAIA, FOUNDING PRINCIPAL: Snow has garnered national recognition as both a practitioner and academic. Since founding Julie Snow Architects in 1995 and continuing the design trajectory of the firm as Snow Kreilich Architects, Julie participates in every project in the studio. Snow has taught architecture at the Graduate School of Design at Harvard, the University of Southern California, and the University of Minnesota College of Design, where she received the Ralph Rapson Award for Distinguished Teaching. Snow has been recognized with numerous awards including AIA Honor Awards, the Holcim North American Bronze Award, Progressive Architecture Design Award, the Chicago Athenaeum’s American, Architect Magazine Annual Design Review, and several US General Services Administration's Design Excellence Awards.

ABOUT KIMBERLY PECK: Peck is a licensed architect and has been practicing in New York City since 1997. She started her career working for world renowned restaurant designer Adam Tihany and the award-winning firm of Ogawa Depardon Architects, gaining extensive experience through her involvement in a variety of hospitality, retail and residential projects. In 2004 she started her own eponymous architectural firm focusing on high-end residential and hospitality projects for clients such as The W Hotel, Jonathan Adler, Ted Gibson, Loreal, Maimonides Medical Center, and Club Monaco.

ABOUT JENNIFER TULLEY, AIA, ASSOCIATE PRINCIPAL, TEF DESIGN, FOUNDER, JENNIFER TULLEY ARCHITECTS: Jennifer Tulley, AIA, joined TEF Design as associate principal in 2020. Prior to joining TEF, she worked for Richard Meier & Partners Architects and Helfand Myerberg Guggenheimer Architects in New York City before moving to San Francisco to found her own firm, Jennifer Tulley Architects (JTA).

ABOUT SARA LAPORTE, FOUNDER: LaPorte completed her Masters in Architecture at Northeastern University, Boston. Following graduation, she relocated to New York City and began working in architectural firms specializing in commercial interiors. While working, she studied and completed her Architectural Licensure. After several years of working on commercial projects, LaPorte founded her own design-build firm focusing on residential renovations and additions.

ABOUT NASTARAN MOUSAVI, RA, CO-FOUNDER:  Mousavi is a designer and a licensed architect in California. She grew up in a small Iranian city, bordered by the Alborz Mountains and the Caspian Sea. Mousavi is co-founder of Studio BANAA  a San Francisco-based architecture practice focused on creating thoughtful and inventive urban infill and adaptive reuse projects for real estate developers, local businesses,, and community organizations.

ABOUT JOY MARTIN, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, FOUNDER: Martin received her BS in Design from the College of Art, Architecture, & Design at Clemson University in South Carolina and her Masters in Archiecture, focusing on sustainable design, from the School of Architectture at the University of Oregon. She then moved to Vancouver, British Colombia where she spent eight years working in urban design and multi-family residential architecture, including the 2010 Winter Olympic Village. In 2013, Martin relocated to Minneapolis, where she started Joy Martin Architecture, a boutique studio with a focus on residential architecture and custom commercial projects.

ABOUT LISA LITTLE, PRINCIPAL: Little holds a Masters in Architecture from the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc). Little integrates her engineering and architecture backgrounds to create an atypical approach to her research and design projects. Her work strives to engage ambient phenomena through built form. She is the principal of her own architecture practice, Vertebrae, and was a co-founder of Layer. Before founding Vertebrae and Layer, Little worked at Patrick Tighe Architecture and Pugh+Scarpa. Little currently teaches graduate and undergraduate level design studios at the University of Southern California and is a licensed architect in the state of California.

ABOUT KAREN FROME, AIA, FOUNDING PARTNER: Frome has over 20 years of experience practicing architecture. She holds a Masters in Architectural History and Theory from Princeton University and has a Masters in Architecture from Columbia University. Frome participated in the Learning by Design Program teaching children about space and architecture and has taught industrial design studios at the Rhode Island School of Design and graduate architectural studios at Parsons School of Design and Columbia University.

ABOUT LISA B. WELCH, PRESIDENT + FOUNDER: Welch founded Welch Design Studio was founded in 2006. She holds a Masters in Architecture from University of Michigan, and studied abroad in Vienna and Florence. Her international education is evident in her designs which seamlessly fuse art, design, engineering, and architecture.
